Thompson Dallas


Located in the historic George Dahl–designed building, Thompson Dallas is part of the largest adaptive reuse project in the history of Texas. The hotel features interior design by Cindy Zelazny (Interiors Limited) and Caroline Todd (Todd Interiors); architecture and design by Merriman Anderson Architects; landscape design by SWA Group, the designer of Las Ventanas in Los Cabos, Mexico; and developed by award-winning firm Todd Interests. The restoration and reusing of materials salvaged during The National’s $460M preservation combined with Thompson Hotels’ world-class culinary offerings, art and entertainment, and groundbreaking design bridges the rich Dallas legacy of The National with Thompson Hotels’ take on modern luxury.


Giant Noise worked closely with the Thompson and Todd Interests teams to launch the new hotel into the Dallas market in November 2020, and has since continued to build its prestige.

What We Did

In 2023, Giant Noise hosted seven partnership events and press trips, including a Visit Dallas media press trip, a Hästens partnership and a Socorro x Catbird Influencer Cocktail Making Class.

Giant Noise maintained ongoing PR support for the hotel and its F&B concepts and generated excitement within the Dallas community. We invited media, influencers and key community members to stay or dine at Thompson Dallas.

To maintain regional and national recognition, Giant Noise submitted the hotel for awards. Notably, Thompson Dallas was named a Spirited Awards Top 10 Honoree for Best US Hotel Bar for 2024, CN Traveler’s Hot List 2021, and earned nominations such as the CultureMap Dallas Tastemaker Awards and D Magazine’s Best of Big D 2023.



Our partnership with Thompson Dallas has significantly boosted the hotel’s presence and standing, marking a notable success. Our strategic efforts have resulted in widespread media coverage, with 479M media impressions and a media value of $987K. Leveraging social media platforms, we’ve generated an additional 17M impressions, further amplifying Thompson Dallas’ reach. Nineteen media visits, twenty-five influencer visits and four VIP/celebrity visits underscore the hotel’s allure and desirability. Additionally, the hotel’s excellence was acknowledged by Texas Monthly, which named it one of the Best New Hotels in Texas, affirming its status as a premier destination.
