Creative Media Associate

As a Creative Media Associate at Giant Noise, you’ll play a crucial role in producing creative and high-quality visual assets for clients spanning various industries and platforms. Collaborating closely with clients and internal teams, you’ll be responsible for shooting compelling imagery that aligns with client brand standards and objectives. This entry-level position is ideal for someone with a unique perspective and a passion for creating captivating visual content while adhering to technical and aesthetic standards.


About the Job

  • Client Collaboration: Work with client stakeholders and team leads to ideate and create visual media.
  • Storytelling: Utilize storytelling skills to effectively communicate client objectives through visual media.
  • Technical Expertise: Understand and engage with camera, sound, and lighting principles to create high-quality visual media.
  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with the Creative Director, Photo and Video leads on the planning and execution of creative projects.
  • Creative Development: Create video treatments, moodboards, shotlists, and outlines to prepare for a variety of client and internal shoots.
  • Direction Assistance: Lead or assist in directing actors, models, and conduct “man on the street” style interviews on the spot.
  • File Organization: Organize and maintain video files, with an understanding of  file naming conventions, archival processes, and post-production workflows.
  • Trend Monitoring: Keep up to date with the relevant pop-culture and social media trends with a pulse on what is relevant to client and stakeholder brands.

About You

  • Experience: Minimum of one to two years of video and photography experience, preferably in an internship and, or freelance roles.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Art, Film, Cinema Studies, or Photography, or alternatively, two years of experience in Content Creation, Video or Photo Production.
  • Photography Knowledge: Understanding of photography principles, image styling, and proficiency in short and medium form storytelling. 
  • Equipment Proficiency: Proficient with mirrorless and DSLR cameras, with hands-on experience in shooting and managing equipment
  • Software Proficiency: Highly proficient with Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, and Google Workspace Suite. Knowledge of After Effects and Motion Graphics Principles is a plus, but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Understanding of video encoding formats and digital workflow, with the ability to navigate post-production processes.
  • Portfolio: Showcase a portfolio of photography and video work encompassing passion projects, previous client work, internships, and / or school projects. 
  • Execution Ability: Capable of taking conceptual ideas and executing them from inception to completion, demonstrating creativity and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative Aptitude: Ability to receive direction and feedback from internal team members and clients, adapting and iterating on ideas as necessary. 
  • Additional Skills (optional): Narrative script writing skills are a plus, but not required for this role.

What It Takes

  • Physical Demands: Sitting 40% of the time, standing 60% of the time.
  • Working Hours: Typically, work hours are from 9:00 AM CST to 6:00 PM CST, Mondays through Fridays. Depending on the type of content, irregular hours may be required, including weekends and evenings, to accommodate clients’ schedules or capture events as they occur.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to kneel, squat, or stand for extended periods to capture images. Capable of lifting 20-50 lbs. as necessary. 
  • Manual Dexterity: Regular use of hands and fingers for computer use.
  • Sensory Function: Everyday use of vision and auditory senses, including exposure to blue light from computers.
  • Environment: Work in various environments, including indoor environmentally controlled spaces, outdoor locations, depending on project requirements. Travel may be required for on-location shoots, covering events, or working on assignments in different regions.
  • Communication: Daily communication with peers, media, and clients is essential to the role.
  • Cognitive Demands: Ability to maintain cognitive thinking and logical reasoning throughout tasks and responsibilities.
