South Congress Hotel goes beyond typical accommodations by truly rooting itself in the SoCo neighborhood. It provides visitors and Austinites with three restaurants, two local retailers, a nail salon, three bars, and a coffee and juice shop in addition to the 83 stunning hotel rooms.
With the goal to build buzz prior to the opening, introduce the hotel to media and tastemakers, and to create individual identities for each restaurant, Giant Noise handled PR for the lead up to and the entire opening sequence of South Congress Hotel and its restaurants Otoko, Café No Sé, and Central Standard. We created a detailed, strategic PR plan for each separate component, which lead to consistent editorial coverage locally, regionally, and nationally. Since opening, the hotel has been named to Travel + Leisure’s It List 2016: the Best New Hotels on the Planet, Condé Nast Traveler’s The Best New Hotels in the World: Hot List 2016, and Texas Monthly’s Best Hotels in Texas: 2016.
Giant Noise has continued to provide PR services for the hotel and its restaurants following the opening. South Congress Hotel has continued to make an impact on guests and media alike, having been featured in the New York Times and The Telegraph, among others. Otoko has also been gaining attention and praise, with Yoshi Okai being named one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs for 2017.
